Belgrade will host an intriguing chess match from May 29 to June 1, attracting global chess enthusiasts. The match features American grandmaster Hans Moke Niman and Russian grandmaster Jan Nepomnjašči, competing in eight games with a 60-minute time control for each player and a 30-second increment for each move.

This will be a fascinating duel in a new time control format. The International Chess Federation (FIDE) recently decided that this time control can be used in higher-level tournaments with the approval of the qualifying commission.

This will be the first match of its kind and will be particularly interesting to watch as it brings together two distinct chess schools. Jan Nepomnjašči is one of the leading Russian grandmasters of the past 10-15 years and has played for the world championship title against Magnus Carlsen. It will be intriguing to see his current form.

The match will take place at the Hajat hotel with technical and media support from the Serbian Chess Federation.
