Chelsea FC is finalizing the composition of its new technical team under the direction of new manager Javi Alonso. Three key figures from the previous staff—Callum McPhailan, Ben Roberts, and Bernard Kouek—are set to remain, forming part of Alonso’s new coaching setup.

The Retained Staff and New Additions

McPhailan temporarily managed Chelsea following Liam Rosenior’s departure, while Roberts and Kouek had existing roles within the club’s technical staff. Roberts specializes in goalkeeper coaching, and Kouek focuses on static phases.

The new additions to Alonso’s team include Sébastien Desabre, Albert Endriss, Benoit Lamperien, and Ismael Kamfenforte Lopez. These appointments demonstrate Chelsea’s intention to combine the new leadership with continuity within the team.

Chelsea officially announced Alonso as the new manager on July 1st, with a four-year contract. Alonso’s decision to retain core personnel from the previous regime shows a strategic effort to avoid wasting time on adaptation.
