Cleveland Cavaliers have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2018 after defeating the Detroit Pistons 125-94 in Game 7. Donovan Mitchell led the scoring with 26 points, Jarrett Allen added 23 points, as did Sam Merrill. Evan Mobley contributed a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Cavaliers will face the New York Knicks in a best-of-seven series, with Game 1 starting Tuesday at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Mitchell, commenting on the victory, expressed his excitement and emphasized the need for discipline in the upcoming series against New York. "This is fantastic. I'm excited, believe me. But we need to be more disciplined [on Tuesday]."

The Cavaliers established a 20-point lead in the first half and increased it to 26 points in the third quarter, marking their first trip to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2018, when they defeated the Boston Celtics in seven games.

Despite starting the season as the first seed in the Eastern Conference, the Pistons struggled, with All-Star guard Cade Cunningham missing all seven of his three-point shots and scoring only 13 points. Tobias Harris failed to score any points in six attempts. The Cavaliers outperformed the Pistons in field goal percentage (50.6% to 35.3%) and rebounds (50-41).
