Bulgarian Wing Silvester Jasper Named to Serbian Superliga Dream Team

Bulgarian winger Silvester Jasper was named to the Serbian Superliga dream team for the 2025/26 season, following the individual awards ceremony in Belgrade after the league's conclusion.

The champions, Red Star Belgrade, were represented in the dream team by six players. Two players are from the Pančevo-based club, Železnik, including the London-born winger with Bulgarian roots, Silvester Jasper. Partizan Belgrade, OFK Belgrade, and Vojvodina from Novi Sad each had one representative.

This year will be long remembered in the town of Pančevo, just outside Belgrade, as the local football club, Železnik, started the season as a pleasant surprise in the Serbian league and finished with its first-ever UEFA Conference League qualification. To add to the historical campaign, two of their players, central defender Mirkо Milich and winger Silvester Jasper, were included in the team of the year.

According to the regulations, the best 11 players were selected by the coaches and captains of all 16 Superliga clubs, with the rule that no one could vote for players from their own team. The dream team was chosen in a 4-4-2 formation, dominated by players from Red Star Belgrade, who had six representatives in the team of the year.

The team of the year features: Balsh Popovic (OFK Belgrade) – Nair Tikenyan (Red Star Belgrade), Nikola Simic (Partizan), Mirkо Milich (Železnik Pančevo), Seol Yon-Woo (Red Star Belgrade) – Silvester Jasper (Železnik Pančevo), Rade Krunic (Red Star Belgrade), Vasilie Kostov (Red Star Belgrade), Lazar Randjelovic (Vojvodina) – Alexandar Katak (Red Star Belgrade), Jay Ifeanyi Tyrone Enem (Red Star Belgrade).

Alexandar Katak received the award for the best player of the league, Vasilie Kostov for the best young player, and Radomir Kokovic, the coach of Železnik, received the award for the best coach in the league.

Jasper himself was visibly moved by the nomination, thanking God, the coach, everyone who helped him during the season, and his family and girlfriend in fluent Serbian.

The 24-year-old player, born in London to a Nigerian father and a Bulgarian mother from Dupnitsa, has played for academies like Queens Park and Fulham, as well as clubs like Colchester, Scottish Hibernian, Śląsk (Poland), Bristol Rovers, and Portimonense (Portugal). Since last summer, he has been playing for Železnik (Pančevo), having played 31 matches, scoring 7 goals, and providing 6 assists before the end of the season. He has also played four matches for Bulgaria's youth national team.
