National Davis Cup representative Piotr Nesterov has advanced to the singles final of the clay court tennis tournament in Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy, with a prize fund of $30,000. Ranked second in Bulgaria, Nesterov defeated Iranian Kasra Rahmani in the semifinals with a score of 6:3, 2:6, 6:2, taking the match in a grueling two hours and 23 minutes.

In the first set, Nesterov secured a decisive lead by winning three consecutive games from 3:3 to 6:3. In the second set, the Bulgarian faltered, losing four consecutive games from 2:2 to 2:6. However, Nesterov dominated the final set, winning five consecutive games from 1:2 to 6:2 to clinch the victory.

This is Nesterov's fourth consecutive win at the tournament, having lost only two sets so far. He will face Arthur Nagele from France in the final.

Nesterov has seven singles titles in his ITF career, with his most recent triumph in Monastir at the beginning of February.
