Bulgaria Triumphs with Two Titles at the U-18 European Shooting Championships in Osijek

Bulgarian young talents in competitive shooting achieved remarkable success at the U-18 European Shooting Championships held in Osijek, Croatia, securing two European titles in the skeet category for the junior division. The Bulgarian team's hero was Iliya Iliyev, who won the European title in the individual skeet competition for the U-18 division. With an outstanding and confident performance, he secured the gold medal with a score of 71 points, simultaneously setting a new European record in the discipline. This achievement highlights his excellent preparation, concentration, and competitive spirit.

Bulgaria's second gold medal came in the team competition, where the national team comprising Iliya Iliyev, Zdravko Vrbanov, and Dimitar Todorov deservedly claimed the European title in the junior skeet discipline. The Bulgarian competitors demonstrated excellent preparation, concentration, and team spirit, finishing with a total score of 196 points and outperforming strong teams from France and Poland.

Other notable performances by Bulgarian national shooters include:

  • Zdravko Vrbanov – 10th place in the individual skeet competition for juniors;
  • Dimitar Todorov – 18th place in the individual skeet competition for juniors;
  • Angela Rangelova – 10th place in the U-18 skeet competition for girls;
  • Marin Iliyev – 36th place in the U-18 trap competition for juniors;
  • Theodora Yakova – 21st place in the U-18 trap competition for girls.
