Bulgaria triumphed at the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Vienna’s Stadthalle arena. This marks Bulgaria’s first victory, with the song "Bangaranga" performed by Dari. Twenty-five countries competed for the coveted microphone-shaped trophy and the title of Europe’s best song. Serbia’s representative, the group “Lavina,” secured the 17th place. Israel came in second place, and Romania claimed third.

Bulgaria’s previous best finish was in 2017 when Kristijan Kostov won second place in Kiev. The country debuted at Eurovision in 2005 and has since gained a reputation for sending modern and competitive pop productions. "Bangaranga" won the contest with a significant 173-point lead over the second-place song, "Michelle" by Noam Bettan from Israel. This margin surpasses the previous record set by Alexander Rybak’s "Fairytale" in Moscow 2009 with a 169-point lead. Romania, represented by Alexandra Căpitănescu and "Choke Me," also made a strong comeback to the competition in 2026, securing third place. Australia and Italy rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth places, respectively.
