Bulgaria Secures Eight Gold Medals on Second Day of "Grand Prix Burgas - Mayor's Cup 2026"

On the second day of the International Swimming Grand Prix "Grand Prix Burgas - Mayor's Cup 2026," held at Park Arena OZK, Bulgarian athletes secured eight gold medals. Gabriela Georgieva claimed the gold medal in the women's 200-meter backstroke final with a time of 2:12.20 minutes, setting a national record. The athlete from Olimpia had a significant lead over the second and third place finishers, Darina Rakova from Saint George and Tiana Temelkova from VSI. In the men's 200-meter backstroke, Daren Kirilov from Dorostol won with a time of 1:59.10 minutes, followed by Adrian Ioninov and Nikolay Levterov from Sprint Sofia.

Diana Petkova from Sprint Sofia won her second gold medal of the competition after her victory in the women's 100-meter butterfly. She finished the race in 1:00.42 minutes. In the men's event, Viktor Hristov from Plovdiv 2019 won with a time of 54.08 seconds.

Petar Mitzin from Vihren took the gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle event, posting a time of 3:48.45 minutes. He significantly outperformed his competitors. In the women's 400-meter freestyle, the gold medal went to Simona Ivanova from Olimp with a time of 4:28.61 minutes, followed by Emi Dimitrova and Andrea Georgieva from VSI.

Seventeen-year-old Elitsa Milotinova from Akademik won the 200-meter breaststroke event with a time of 2:42.19 minutes, followed by Elena Kaleidzhiska from Olimp and Hatice Yozturk from Breeze. Svilen Nikolov from VSI won the men's 200-meter individual medley, finishing in 2:06.82 minutes, narrowly defeating the Moldovan Ivan Danco by 8 hundredths of a second. The third place went to Svilen Nikolov's teammate, Yavor Stefanov.
