Confidence High in Sarajevo Camp

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team is ramping up preparations for their upcoming World Cup campaign, with players projecting a message of calm optimism. Midfielder Armin Armin Gigović described himself as physically and mentally refreshed following the conclusion of the club season. After a brief period of rest, he has focused entirely on regaining peak fitness for national duty. "I feel good physically and mentally and I am ready for what awaits us," Gigović stated during a press interaction in Sarajevo.

The atmosphere within the squad is reported as highly positive. With nearly all invited players having reported for duty, the coaching staff has been able to conduct high-quality training sessions. Gigović noted that the unity in the camp is vital as they look ahead to friendly fixtures and the main tournament in North America. "Almost everyone has arrived and we are preparing for the friendly match and what awaits us in America," he explained.

Fan Support and Tactical Focus

Player morale has received a significant boost from overwhelming public interest. Tickets for the upcoming warm-up matches have sold out, a development that Gigović believes will translate into tangible energy on the pitch. "More people in the stadium creates a better atmosphere and makes everything more positive," he said. This support is viewed as a crucial factor in maintaining high standards during preparation.

Teammate Benjamin Benjamin Tahirović echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the group shares a clear common goal. "We have respect for everyone, but we have no fear of any national team," Tahirović asserted. While qualifying was a major achievement, the squad views the tournament itself as a new challenge. The core group, forged through previous competition cycles, is now undergoing final tactical integration under coach Sergej Barbarez.

Final Warm-Up and Group Stage

The team will face North Macedonia in a friendly match in Sarajevo on May 29. This fixture serves as the final major test before the squad travels to North America. Bosnia and Herzegovina will open their World Cup campaign against hosts Canada. They will also face Qatar and Switzerland in the group stage. The objective is to navigate the group phase with strong performances and secure a notable result in their second appearance at the world's premier tournament.
