Chefte Betancor, the Spanish striker for Olympiacos, has clarified his future, emphasizing that the club holds the final say in his career's next steps, despite his own preference to remain in Spain. After an impressive season with Albacete in the Segunda Division, Betancor scored 17 goals in 41 appearances, playing a crucial role in Albacete's historic elimination of Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey.

Contract and Career Choices

The 33-year-old striker's contract with Olympiacos extends until the summer of 2027, binding him to the Greek club. Betancor has made it clear that his fate lies in the hands of Olympiacos, stating, "I have to return to Greece because I depend on Olympiacos, who currently have the control. If there's a possibility for an agreement, I am very happy here and we'll see what happens."

He also highlighted his tendency to avoid intense transfer dealings during the season, leaving negotiations and decisions to the clubs involved. Betancor expressed his contentment with his current situation, saying, "I am not someone who asks a lot. Right now, everything depends on Olympiacos, and I can't do much. However, I enjoy being here."

Past Performance and Club History

Recalling his performance, Betancor praised the hard work he put in both physically and mentally, which contributed to his successful goalscoring season. "I worked daily physically and mentally. The goals came at the right times and against the right teams. With time, everything improved and we are very satisfied," he stated.

Betancor transferred to Olympiacos after an exceptional stint with Panathinaikos, where he scored 25 goals and provided 3 assists in 49 matches. Despite being an Olympiacos player, Betancor has not yet played an official match for the club, being loaned directly to Albacete.
