After a fiery start, Dinamo took the lead against Hajduk in the 22nd minute with a goal from Mounsef Bakrar. Bakrar brilliantly finished a cross from Josip Mišić on the left side and curled the ball into the far corner of the net. The goal sparked an eruption of joy in Maksimir, making it Bakrar’s 11th in the HNL this season.

Bakrar is now taking on the nickname 'Mr. Derby,' traditionally held by his compatriot, Algerian Hilal Soudani, who scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in 23 matches against Hajduk. Bakrar has now scored his third goal against Hajduk this season, following a September match where he netted a penalty in a 2-0 win in Split and a March game where he scored in a 3-1 victory. This Algerian talent, one of the best acquisitions of Zvonimir Boban last summer, arrived for a million euros from New York City.
