The "Green" of Panathinaikos secured the first two matches in their EuroLeague quarterfinal series against Valencia, but then lost the subsequent three games, failing to host the Final Four in their Athens arena.

Ergin Ataman, who brought the EuroLeague trophy to Panathinaikos in his first season two years ago, has now faced a significant setback after the team's exit from the Final Four at home.

The Turkish coach, known for his calm demeanor, addressed the current situation. "I came to this club because of the great trust that owner Dimitris Janakopulos has in me. If Janakopulos no longer believes in me, then I will leave on my own," Ataman stated.

He added that he still believes in winning the Greek championship. "We have the quality and will proceed step by step. If we reach the championship final, we have the capacity to win the title. In sports, there are tough moments. This isn't art where everything always looks good. Still, all the players have the character to overcome this situation."
