Arnold Allan Snaps Melquizael Costa's Winning Streak

Arnold Allan returned to winning ways in the main event of UFC Vegas 117, defeating rising contender Melquizael Costa in a featherweight clash. Having lost three of his last four fights, Allan faced a fighter on a six-fight winning streak. However, the 32-year-old demonstrated aggression and veteran experience to secure a win within 25 minutes.

In the first round, Allan knocked Costa to the canvas with a left kick, following up with strikes and elbows. Costa responded with a flurry of kicks, but Allan overcame the attacks and continued to land heavy lefts. As the fight progressed into the championship rounds, Allan's veteran experience shone through, mixing various martial arts techniques while continuing to land precise lefts.

After the fight, Allan expressed disappointment at having to rely on a judges' decision and expressed his desire for a rematch with Movsar Evloev for the featherweight title.

“I’m tired of these decisions, man,” Allan said in a post-fight interview. “They’ve screwed me over so many times with these decisions. I thought they’d do it again. But, by God, I’m coming for some of these rematches. Movsar, win this title, I want your back, boy!”
