"I am not making this decision alone, but I have every reason to believe that I will be the manager of Liverpool next season. First, I am contractually bound to the club, and second, based on the conversations we have been having," Arne Slot said at a press conference before the Premier League match against Aston Villa, as reported by British media.

Journalists also asked Slot if he is involved in planning the team for the next season.

"Plans have been made, and discussions are ongoing between the club and some players. I am involved in that too, if that is what you want to know," Slot added.

Liverpool is currently fourth in the Premier League table with two matches left, in a good position to secure a Champions League spot for next season. However, Slot is facing increasing pressure, and his popularity among Liverpool fans is declining due to the team's failure to defend its Premier League title.

"If a manager or a club does not have the best season, it is always discussed. This is not just a situation in Liverpool; it's a new reality in football. I don't judge the people who judge me. Everyone has the right to their opinion," Slot said.

"In these modern times, everyone can share their opinion. This was happening 10-15 years ago too, but then you did it in a coffee shop, and not everyone could hear it. Now, everything is public," he added.

Liverpool will host Aston Villa on Friday at 21:00 in the 37th round of the Premier League, and they will face Brentford in the final match on May 24.
