Applications for the "Expo Playmakers" volunteer program have officially opened, offering thousands of young people the chance to be part of the largest international event Serbia has ever organized. Over 20,000 volunteers will participate in the specialized Expo 2027 Belgrade exhibition, a global event that will gather the world in Serbia for 93 days.

Volunteer applications are open to all adults from Serbia, the region, and around the world through a dedicated volunteer platform available at https://join.volunteer.expobelgrade2027.org/login.php. All additional information about the volunteer program can be found on the official website of the specialized exhibition at https://expobelgrade2027.org/sr.

Future volunteers can apply for one of 48 different positions within the exhibition organization, ranging from interacting with visitors and delegations to logistics, event organization, and support for international teams. Candidates must be at least 18 years old by April 15, 2027, and able to commit a minimum of 15 days during the Expo.

The most intensive selection and training period is expected from September 2026 to April 2027, with candidates undergoing a series of educational programs to enhance their skills and experiences.

The program is also open to international volunteers, providing an opportunity for Serbians of all generations to collaborate, socialize, and exchange experiences with people from around the world. Organizers emphasize that Expo 2027 should become the largest open platform for connecting, learning, and gaining new experiences in Serbia, a place for developing organizational, communication, and intercultural skills, as well as building important contacts for future professional and personal opportunities.

Through a partnership benefits system, volunteers will have access to numerous benefits, including the opportunity to earn additional ESPB credits during training, various discounts such as 27% off Er Srbija air tickets, Telekom Srbija benefits, and free use of certain railway passenger transport services within the Republic of Serbia during the program, subject to the conditions of the Expo volunteer program and possession of valid volunteer accreditation. All participants will receive an official uniform, welcome package, training, and a certificate recognized in the educational and professional systems.

Experience from international exhibitions shows that volunteer programs are one of the most lasting legacies of each Expo. In Dubai, many volunteers found their first job thanks to the experience gained during the exhibition, while in Lisbon, the program eventually evolved into a permanent academy for young people. Similar models were applied at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with 45,000 volunteers, and in preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which opened applications for up to 65,000 volunteers.

Volunteering in Serbia has deep historical roots, from the tradition of the Red Cross and Sokol societies to contemporary examples of solidarity in crisis situations and at major sports and cultural events. Expo 2027 now elevates that tradition to a global level.
