Antun Genov Wins Challenger Doubles Title in Zagreb

Antun Genov has secured his biggest career title by winning the doubles championship at the Clay Challenger 125 tournament in Zagreb, which had a prize fund of €97,640. On the second day of the competition, Genov and his British partner Finn Bass defeated the second-seeded team of George Goldhoff (USA) and Johannes Inghildsen (Denmark) with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 10-8, in a match that lasted one hour and 27 minutes.

The Bulgarian and his British partner lost the first set, but made a comeback in the sixth game of the second set, leveling the score at 6-3. In the decisive championship tiebreaker, they were down 3-6 but won seven of the next nine points to secure the victory.

Genov earned €2,270 and 75 points for the ATP World Doubles Rankings, where he currently holds the 238th position. Following this win, he is expected to climb to a career-high 203rd position. This is Genov's first title in the Challenger series, though he has nine ITF tournament victories to his name.
