On the eve of the Day of Bravery and the Bulgarian Army's holiday on May 6, Acting Minister Andrey Gyurov took a ride on one of the new F-16 Block 70 fighter jets. The video, posted on his Facebook page, was accompanied by the iconic theme from the cult movie "Top Gun." Gyurov was seen wearing a stylish leather jacket as he boarded the aircraft.
Gyurov’s Day at the Third Aviation Base
The acting minister spent part of Tuesday at the Third Aviation Base near Graf Ignatievo, where he was given the opportunity to experience the thrill of flying in one of the advanced F-16 fighter jets. The F-16 Block 70 is part of Bulgaria's modernization efforts to enhance its air defense capabilities.
Gyurov's choice of background music for the video, the "Top Gun" soundtrack, added a touch of Hollywood flair to his military experience. The film, released in 1986, has become a symbol of bravery and excellence in fighter pilot training and operations.
The visit to the Third Aviation Base and the flight in the F-16 Block 70 is just one of the many activities leading up to the Bulgarian Army's annual celebration, which commemorates the valor and sacrifices of the armed forces.
