Alex Márquez secured the sprint for the Catalunya Grand Prix, narrowly beating Pedro Acosta by 0.4 seconds. Acosta started from pole position, but Márquez managed to overtake him at the end of the race, securing first place.

"I had issues with the front tire towards the end – admitted Márquez after the race. – This may be because I pressed a bit harder at the start."

"We need to improve this for tomorrow, but otherwise everything else was fine."

"I think we are in good shape. It's true that things aren't as easy as last year, it's harder for me this year, but overall the feeling is good. Today we took a small step forward, let's see if we can take another one tomorrow."
