The 19th May Youth Cup Track and Field Competition, organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Youth and Sports Directorate and İBB Sports Istanbul, has concluded. The event, which took place at the İBB Maltepe Kenan Onuk Track and Field Stadium, featured young athletes aged 10 to 17.
PROMINENT CLUBS PARTICIPATED
The competition, held over two days, included four different age groups: U12, U14, U16, and U18, and a total of 21 categories. Participants included licensed athletes from leading clubs such as ENKA, Fenerbahçe, and Galatasaray, as well as individual and school athletes with track and field licenses.
INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED RECORDS
The 19th May Youth Cup Track and Field Competition was conducted in accordance with the World Athletics Competition and Technical Rules and the Turkish Athletics Federation (TAF) Competition Instructions. The U16 and U18 races, which are part of the World Athletics calendar, will have internationally recognized performances.
21 CATEGORIES COMPETED
The competition included events in running, jumping, and throwing. Running events included 60m, 80m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 600m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4x50m (relay), 4x80m (relay), 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, and 100m/110m hurdles. Jumping events included high jump and long jump, while throwing events included shot put, javelin, discus, and hammer throw.
